COLORADO ACTIVITIES HANDBOOK
INTRODUCTION
A Word from the Director...
INTERLINK tries to provide not only the highest quality English instruction but also the best possible environment for students to experience and enjoy the life and culture of the United States. Marcia Lane, long-time INTERLINK teacher, has done an excellent job of organizing a variety of stimulating trips and activities that all INTERLINK students can enjoy and learn from.
There are many exciting places to visit and things to do in this area which cannot be done as school outings, so Marcia has compiled this wonderful handbook for students to use independently. Browse through it to find many ideas about how to spend your free time, where to go on weekends, and what to do during the break between terms. There is detailed information about how to get to many different places and how to prepare for particular activities.
A word of caution is necessary here. While activities such as skiing, rafting and mountain climbing are very exciting and enjoyable, they are not without risk. We want to remind everyone to be extra careful while engaged in such activities and while traveling to and from them. Road and weather conditions are sometimes hazardous in Colorado, and care should be taken in all travel. INTERLINK in no way endorses or advertises the companies and services listed here; we make this information available to you for your convenience.
We wish
you a safe, productive and enjoyable stay in Colorado.

A Word from the Activities Coordinator...
Dear Student,
This directory
was created as a service to you. After students had come to me many times asking
about places to have fun and how to get there, I realized a need existed for such
a directory. Because I have lived here many years and have done many activities
with my own family, I believed that I could make some suggestions for you. I hope
that you enjoy the places I have named here.
Special thanks to Mr. Ahad Shahbaz
and Mr. Mark Feder for giving me a term off from teaching an afternoon class so
that I could work on this directory.
And thanks to my fellow teachers for
adding their suggestions. Also to be recognized are those students who gave me
ideas of what their needs were when they came to Golden.
Marcia Lane
