INTERLINK Language Centers and English Gate Academy (EGA)
TVTC Technical Training Colleges
Saudi Arabia
Background
For more than three decades, INTERLINK has been offering intensive English language training, academic preparation, and cultural orientation to students, scholars and professionals from around the world.
With almost a decade of operations in Saudi Arabia, INTERLINK is now entering its second year of a contractual agreement with the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC), which oversees the country’s colleges of technology and telecommunications. The goal of the program is to prepare students for different professional functions. Most students will be preparing for the workplace, while a small number may also continue to higher education either in the Kingdom or abroad.
By Saudi law, international organizations must have Saudi counterparts in order to do business in Saudi Arabia. INTERLINK’s Saudi counterpart, English Gate Academy, is well known and recognized for providing ESP training for professionals in the business and government sectors. INTERLINK has worked with EGA’s upper administration for more than a decade and have established an excellent, close working relationship with them. For the programs to run smoothly, INTERLINK provides curricular and training support while EGA attends to local, logistical details. The close working relationship between the two organizations has helped INTERLINK overcome many bureaucratic hurdles that are normal in such operations. All teachers hired for this project will be EGA employees.
